Summer Walks Programme

Local geologists, Dr Ian Kille, Alison Tymon and Elizabeth Devon, are leading a series of field trips to explore our coast over the next few months. Each trip will include a guided walk, followed by a short lecture to explain more about the local geological features viewed. The programme also includes two boat trips to explore features that are only visible from offshore (details available at www.berwickshirerocks.org.uk).

Each walk will last about 2 hours and conclude with light refreshments and a lecture at a local venue, where there will also be the chance to view an exhibition about the way in which the geology impacts and has helped to shape the evolving history of Berwickshire — its fishing, economic development, climate, smuggling heritage and wildlife.
