Duns Film Club will continue its ‘Celtic Connections’ season on Sunday 16 February:
4.00pm Shallow Grave
Three roommates in an Edinburgh flat find their newly accepted fourth roommate dead, with a huge amount of cash beside him. Greed brings out the worst in the trio and they find themselves on a downward spiral. This 1994 black comedy was directed by Danny Boyle and provided starring roles for the then relatively little-known actors Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston and Kerry Fox. Run time 92 minutes (18). Tickets £6 at the door or book in advance by calling 01361 408 698 (temporary number) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Duns Community Cinema will show two recent releases on Friday 28 February:
5.30pm Spies in Disguise
Super spy Lance (Will Smith) and scientist Walter (Tom Holland) are opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is not. But when events take an unexpected turn, they need to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can’t learn to work as a team, the whole world is in peril. Animated adventure comedy. Run time 102 minutes (PG).
8.00pm Little Women
Writer-director Greta Gerwig’s film draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott. The story unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects on her fictional life. The cast includes Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen as the four March sisters, with Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep. Nominated for six Oscars and five Bafta awards. Run time 135 minutes (U).
