December films at the Volunteer Hall

Duns Film Club will continue its ‘Celtic Connections’ season on Sunday 15 December:

4.00pm  The Angels’ Share
Directed by Ken Loach and written by Paul Laverty, this 2012 film is set in Glasgow and tells the story of a group of young offenders sentenced to community service. They devise a “sting” after going on an outing to a distillery with their community service supervisor and learning about the opportunities there might be for ripping off wealthy whisky collectors. Duns Community Cinema will show two recent releases on Friday 20 December:

5.30pm  Frozen II
Musical fantasy sequel, set three years after the original film. Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister Anna embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle. They are joined by friends, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven. Run time 103 minutes (U).

8.00pm  Last Christmas
Kate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having accepted to work as Santa’s elf for a department store. However, she meets the mysterious Tom there and her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true. Run time 103 minutes (12A).
